´Unemployed Architect´ competition
Brief – Unemployed Architect?? surviving with a temporary job in MacDonalds or Starbucks or simply scratching yourself at home?? Never before have so many unemployed architects been infiltrating other industries to finance a living. Never before has there been the opportunity for so many architectural eyes to evaluate the efficiency of the design of the industry.
If you find that you are flippin´ burgers then stop to re-assess the design…why not place cows in the car park or chickens on the roof of a KFC??
Perhaps the next time on your trip to the benefits office you have a look at the city transport system where you live and improve its efficiency or even re-evaluate where your toilet faeces end up after you drop a bomb at home
The competition is to re-design or create a new design of a system which can be integrated within a building or city. There are no limits on ideas, however, the process must be thought through from start to finish with an element of practicality
19-11-09
Competition examples include:-
´Atelier Bow Wow´ roof bridge in Linz – where a walkway network has been integrated into a disused roof space
´Schweeb´ human powered monorails in Ngongotha – is both efficient and revolutionary, redefining the way humans travel
Underground Waste System – is not a new concept, however its simplicity has literally cleaned up waste management within city centre areas
Electric Vehicle charging in MacDonalds – not only are they trying to clean up their image, it seams MacDonalds are trying to clean up the motorways
Entrants must effectively integrate a new system or improve an existing one into a current building, city or landscape
The design may be revolutionary, may be simple, however it must be more than aesthetical with an element of efficiency, practicality and compatibility

1975´s Architects´ Revolutionary Council
November 15, 20092009´s ARCHITECTURE REVOLUTION is coincidently unrelated to 1975´s Architects´ Revolutionary Council (ARC). The motive for the ARC was a communist vendetta against the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) while the REV is a positive social network for the creation of architecture for architects and their rights
The Architects’ Revolutionary Council presents its manifesto to the AA
Date: 1975
Location: AA, London
Subject: The Architects’ Revolutionary Council
Founded by Architectural Association tutor Brian Anson, the Architects’ Revolutionary Council was committed to a comprehensive overhaul of the profession for the good of society as a whole.
“Has the RIBA ever considered that architecture should be free or at least accessible to all the people?” Anson asked. “Why is it so far behind the medical profession?
“The reason is simple: if it did the profession as it stands would wholly and absolutely cease to exist.”
In this image, the ARC is shown presenting its manifesto to a small audience at the AA.
Anson, who was previously instrumental in the campaign to save Covent Garden from redevelopment, is pictured third from left.

Join the revolution, join the movement, fight for what you believe
join the revolution
November 3, 2009
The instability of the architecture industry created the birth of ARCHITECTURE REVOLUTION
A project in itself to avoid more lost souls through its creation
Over the decades recessions have continuously beaten the sector of design into a sector of anxiety
The aim is not a slagging circle (well perhaps to bitch a little) but it is the basis to create a revolution to fight for Architects and Architecture
2008 saw the best and subsequently worst architecture since the 70s. A result of little public voice, commercial gain and explosion of the pre-fabrication
2009 saw the recession which in our opinion has created more sophisticated architecture, although amongst millions of redundancies
Join the revolution, join the movement, fight for what you believe
