I – 4 Competition: Results

February 22, 2012

 “I – 4 Competition”

We would like to announce John Killock’s “The School of Lost Skills” as the competition winner.

We believe its concept was the most revolutionary and mixed media animation production to be most effective.

Mentions are given to Architecture W’s “Cone Runners” and Irina Igolnikov’s “Absence Movie”

Many thanks to all those that submitted.

One Last Sight:

The most carefully produced entry graphically and perhaps the most aesthetically tasteful, however unfortunately the video is extremely short.  These designers have strong talent and we would definitely like to see more.

Absence Movie:

An extremely moving piece and cleverly crafted using a series of 2D stills to create a journey through architecture.  It would be interesting to introduce the concept into a more practical design level.

This entry was definitely the most playful.  Again would like to the see the theme developed into a more practical design level.  Thanks for putting a smile on our faces.

Cone Runners

Conceptually one of the strongest entries and best produced.  Perhaps concentrating upon the architecture as apposed to the animation characters would have strengthened the entry within this competition.  This design team would easily find a future in the animation industry.

Hoorayy Freedom for Pedestrians:

As the comments suggest the most innovative entry in terms of presentation and a very imaginative form of story telling.  However, the animation only really touches upon the issue of design.  Once again we would like to have seen the subject developed further.
