Untitled, Atmospheres, II

Works well as a visual journey, using light as a relationship to move from one architectural medium to the next.  However, it is relatively observational and is perhaps a medium that would succeed best as a background visual.

Soundscape Phenomenology:

A very sensual video, would recommend viewing in a dark room with surround sound.  We enjoyed it acoustically as well as visually, however, still struggle to find a strong concept or story.

Architecture 1:

A very traditional view point in Architecture, however, does conservation not sometimes get in the way of great buildings?  It would form a more interesting debate.

Il Transumante:

A good attempt to tell a modest story, with a praise worthy use of camera shots, well edited.  We feel the video is fairly subjective, perhaps a more personal story understood from the direction of the designer.

The School Of Lost Skills:-

The most complete entry, with a clever architectural concept and storeyboard, perhaps the soundtrack could be developed.

“I – 4 Competition”

Competition aimed to develop the use of film as a platform for architecture design, debate and development.

The relationship between Architecture and Film is fundamental. Architecture inspires Film as much as movies have the potential to inspire Architecture. Classics such as Metropolis and Blade Runner help enthuse and fuel conceptual design ideas. While the media has begun to emerge as the most effective presentation format within the ever evolving industry.

Considering the development of current portable technologies the “I – 4 Competition” aims to allow architects to submit short movies under an architectural theme of their choice and within the media of moving picture or animation.

Many thanks to all those whom submitted.

Results will be published 22nd February 2012
