A very simple approach, however, we find the idea stimulating and very educational.  As can be said “you give a man fish for a day and he will not go hungry for a while, however you give a man a fishing rod and show him how to fish and he will have enough food fot the rest of his life” 

This practicality allows children to develop the play area more subjectively as they would choose to use and potentially change rather than what is already provided for them.  However, perhaps the idea is beyond the limitations of small children??
