The submissions have been outstanding, however, the general response has been disappointing so far, remember the competition is still not over. Defend your proposals, support your designs and critique others!

Magellan Space Station

Interesting take on intense space tourism, however, the entry is visually confusing and requires heavy development.

Well developed modular design, very believable scheme. We would question whether the proposal would have been more impressive as a series of repetitive hexagons rather than a single hexagon that housed modular elements.

We appreciate the simplistic form, although would question it’s practicality, with a diameter of over 4km it would make it impossible to circulate comfortably. Requires convincing design development. Perhaps refer to Space Odyssey 2001.

The beauty with this entry is it could be positioned in any environment on any planet. Well designed units which prove to be extremely flexible. It remains to be see however if 3D printing and mineral extraction would subsequently replace the prefabrication era.

Impressive conceptual design through to a credible amount of development along with elements of detail. The use of magnetic field proves a effective approach although fairly experimental, with possible electrical and satellite interruptive side effects which will have to be considered. Additionally, the proposal could require organization with respect to the habitation modules, which appear spontaneous. Must be a method in the madness.

Very impressive concept, design and presentation. The proposal has been well developed while the approach as a farm and research station is extremely programmatic and admirable. The submission could have developed through to a detail design or suggested technical level to convince its buildability.

Intriguing perception and concept. The political and economical foresights add to the proposal, while the project has been developed well all round with a strong structural study of Eco-skeletal systems and well developed sectional image. The station itself could do with a schematic layout plan and better explained circulation and habitation.
